Young Married Couples Bible Study

A few months ago, we were asked by our pastor to lead an additional Young Married Couples Bible Study/Small Group, and we are so honored for the opportunity.  We knew all along that these types of ministry opportunities would be a part of our life (you guessed it, several people spoke it over our lives), but we just didn't know how or when they would arise.  Small groups at our church serve the purpose of Bible study and going deeper in the Word, but mainly building relationships and a support group for your life.

We're busy running around cleaning every corner, patching, painting, rearranging furniture, and other projects.  But most importantly we will prepare our hearts and stay prayed up so that we will be able to defeat the devil against any schemes he may try to pull.  You know he loves to strike when you're raising up a new standard and doing more for Christ.  As the leaders of a Bible study, we're not the experts, but we will be dedicated to praying for people, seeking out the Word for answers, and just there as part of the support system.

This semester we will be going through a series called, "Sacred Marriage," by Gary Thomas.  From what we studied so far, this series will give you a whole new thought process around marriage and some of the daily struggles.  Please let me know if you've read this book or have gone through this series.  What are your thoughts about it?

As I said, we are excited, but of course, I am a little nervous.  You know the devil loves to throw up past shortcomings and tell us how we're not worthy.  I just shake it off and keep strutting.

Have you ever been a part of a small group/Bible study?  What was the best part of it for you?

  1. Hubby and I are actually part of a marriage group at church and its been great. Most of the couples have been married for over twenty years so it's great soaking up everything they have to teach us! Love that yours look like a lot of young couples :-)

  2. Mrs. Pancakes- That is awesome! Don't you just love the fellowship opportunity, and being able to see that we're not in this alone??? With younger couples we're all learning together. We do have an older couple that we can talk to and they kind of serve as mentors to us.
